[Afterwords: You know I love this just a simple interaction talking about whats going on in our lives. The most important thing to mention about this conversation is that Tony and I who had started off as fuck-buds, then morphed into sort-of dating, were not just friends. I think we accomplished an appropriate friendly energy here. This is why I think the friendship went on to last about another twelve years or so.

From a historical standpoint its hilarious to me that we we're moving away from America Online which up until this point had been the standard for home internet access. I am not sure exactly Bluelight Internet was, its not easy to search for things from twenty years ago, but it seems like it was some free internet service. I think after AOL my next stop was DSL which I would stay on way too long as DSL and Cable battled it out for dominance.

The most brilliant thing I did at this time was leave the city two days after my lay-off. I can't applaud myself more for that. It was a difficult moment being laid off for I think the first and last time in my adult life especially since this occurred during the very notorious Dot Com era of the internet, the Internet 1.0 phase. Leaving Kirshenbaum was a huge risk, I left after my supervisor left and albeit it was good for a moment I was jobless in six months. I wasn't one of those lucky few who landed some place that then later made them internet millionaires. That has never been my lot in life, and I am okay with that, sort of.

For the record I never moved, this was one of two times in my adult life I had considered moving to the South, the second time was Tallahassee Florida, but that didn't work out because I had never focused on developing my credit and couldn't get a rental down there.

My goddess I was very generous back then, I think my giving of plants and flowers ceased after this time period with the exception of the apology flowers I sent to my sister-in-law to be after participating in a very heated argument in her home with one of my cousins. I think it was sweet I had sent Tony a rose plant, I am not sure why, maybe a birthday? I also remember during this time I think I sent Aunt Mary some flowers too or maybe a plant. But haven't done any of that in recent years.

Pussy-time, clearly Anastasia and Neo my cats were still alive as was Tony's all white fur-ball Pom Pom. I miss my cats but have decided I like nice things more than having little furry companions tearing through the house. After Neo died I decided that my next companion would be a dog when I retired, a stray or something I rescue from the pound in Belize where I want to spend my twilight years.

You know this was one of the best interactions I had with a friend regarding my hookup accounts, there wasn't any real judgement just sharing what he observed. This would play out very differently with Adam who was high up on some moral high ground which was so hypocritical when I found the very condom-free videos on his computer of him and his HIV-positive boyfriend Rafi having sexcapades in his bedroom.

I hated my body hair even with how sparse it was, I remember I think I first got rid of it during one of my many trips to Puerto Rico using the very smelly Nair. I enjoyed the feeling of smoothness so much when I got back home I got in the habit of shaving my public bush and the rest of my genitals and ass-crack, I couldn't find a polite way to say ass-crack. I am not quite sure when it changed maybe after I stopped dating in the mid-aughts but I haven't even as much as looked at a razor on my face since two-thousand twenty, and my body easily like maybe two-thousand eight or earlier.

At this time I was at the one of the heaviest moments I was in my adulthood. Albeit I was making some of the best money of my life, I wasn't happy at SF Interactive, and I ballooned. I think in the next two or three years I bought some Nike inline skates which in the early aughts I had become well-known for using to skate everywhere. My body dysmorphia would probably want me to say that I have struggled with my weight my entire adult life. But the fact is I fit into a medium sized t-shirt have since I was a teen, what is big in my head is not is really what is big to the outside world.

My next extreme weight gain as was probably most of the people in the first world countries was during the pandemic. But when we came out of that I lost eighty pounds over the course of a year. I managed to keep it off for about three years surpassing averages, then tired of the regiment and slipped up to a sort-of comfortable weight. Don't get it twisted I am not huge by any means, I am just not my college weight, and it drives me a little crazy when I can't fit into ALL OF MY CLOTHES.

The actor from Oz was Terry Kinney, I wish it had been one of the many hot men on that show, I was always lukewarm about Terry which I finally finished last year.

Soy-milk then and twenty-five years later I am now featuring oat-milk.

I am not sure if this happens to anyone else but films I have seen more than twenty year ago just once I have a tendency to forget. I am checking IMDB and there wasn't a two thousand release of The Exorcist, so I guess maybe I re-watched the original in the theatres?

Good May Day

Oh, I am exhausted. I met Stuart (from that group I used to volunteer with NYPAEC) we ate at Emerald Planet. He was very eager to hear about my escapades with the old job, and all about the new job. He is doing so well, he is about to turn 40 and doesn't look a day over 32.

Stuart is not working for the first time in his life, and is not paying rent and its so exciting for him, I am excited for him, he looks so good! For the record when we were working back in NYPAEC, I used to have such a crush on him. I don't think he knows it, but I guess I have a weakness for Jewish men, Oy Vey!

Anyway, he had to meet a friend and I need to buy some sneakers, so we went up town to H&M that sheik store in midtown that has all the designers at killer prices, and also killer lines, I found a nice light three-quarter jacket and a couple of t-shirts and Stuart had to return something, we waiting a very stunning thirty-five minutes in line!

Stuart is swearing off of H&M which is fine cause he is moving to San Francisco, coincidentally. After H&M, we parted with a hug, he had to catch up with his friend and go to Sachs to have these pants repaired...

SACHS he is SOOOO WHITE WOMAN! LOL, I was on the lookout for sneakers, I need a pair of sneakers so bad, and I want these New Balance I seen this guy wearing on the train, and its been so hard to find them I could just scream, I have to see if they have a web site. Anyway I was walking up 5th And there was a HUGE Banana Republic Men's Store, that I just had to stop in. I walked out with two tops and a pair of jeans. Next I stopped in Brooks Brothers had never been in there before, wasn't feeling it, too uptight and pricey.

What was really affirming all day is that all these guys were looking at me checking me out and cruising me, I haven't felt so attractive in a while, I don't know what it was about what I had on today that made them so receptive, but it was very good for my self-esteem which has been running low lately.

Oh while I am having this aside, I had an interesting chat with Tony. I was IM'ing with him about how I was going on a lunch date and we had a interesting conversation I will just paste it in here:

That was an interesting dialog, its been about five weeks that we have been seeing each other, I just checked my sex database. So anyway, I then went to the Warner Bro store to pick up so more slippers my Taz slippers are a little worn, but they said they were out! I was so bummed I really want a new pair. The next pair I get I am going to get the soles reinforced.

Then I wandered off to FAO Schwartz and got Adam the Barbie Collector's Item Wonder Woman, very cute doll, she has the cape and everything very very cute. I then stopped off in Crate & Barrel to check some of the furniture and saw this chest I am really feeling. By this time my feet were nearly bloody wearing my new J Crew shoes, trying to look cute!

I went and took a nap and sort of left it sitting here, I was so exhausted it was disgusting. To add to this I am so happy to have a clothing rack again, you may not understand the significance of this, but I had a fire October 21, 1998 and at the time all my clothes were on a rack, and I lost all of the clothes in the fire. I didn't buy one stitch of new clothing for a year, and now just about two years later I have finally bought a clothing rack, so I am really happy with myself for making such bold steps and progress.

Some may think oh that was two years ago get over it, but with the history of loss in my life, this was another blow that was very hard to deal with, that and being homeless again, was not cute. With the strength of God and good friends I actually pulled thru, and Anastasia, God bless her heart was caught in the fire, she pulled thru too.

[Twenty-four years ago! #wow The biggest thing NOT being said in this entry is that I was miserable! I was the heaviest I had ever been in my short-lived adult life. The job I was working at would only last another month or two before laying me off. I was on the precipice of a huge life-change!

At the time I was making sixty-five thousand dollars a year, the most money I had ever made at that time in my career, I felt flush especially since my rent was a little over five hundred dollars. I had this thing called disposable income, and that is apparent in how much shopping I had done in this one day, spending money without a care.

I am also tickled at my avoiding my feelings for Stuart cause I still clearly had a crush on him, how many times can I say how good he looked? And then there's Tony who had been a one-night stand that had turned into a sort-of dating situation, which I can tell you didn't last. We just ended up being friends for over a decade before he eventually just begin to ghost me.

The last big revelation was the fire of '98 and how that emotionally impacted me. I haven't really thought about that fire and the future repercussions it would have on my entire building. The official cause was old wiring, and this lead the landlord to finally upgrade the electrical system of the entire building, we even got an intercom! Before you couldn't run a microwave and air conditioner at the same time, now we could run all the appliances and not trip the circuit breaker. I guess this sort of makes it my fault that my all-Black building became infested with young whyte women.

Lastly I also love the time capsule feel of the moment, albeit the internet was in its 1.0 phase, things like AOL's Instant Messenger were dominate communication platforms. The fact that I didn't just photograph those New Balancesneakers I wanted and do a reverse look-up wasn't even a concept back then, I had to go by memory.

It would be nearly twenty years before I got my first New Balance sneakers, and bare-feet is now the norm in my home after my new floors were installed. My clothing racks have been replaced with shelves that have built in racks. My experience and relationship to my space has changed so much in the last quarter century I can say definitively I have made a lot of progress and growth during this time.

It is now 4AM as I'm writing this and i finished reading the second volume of the Sakura Ganbaru manga because i couldn't wait till morning to read it. Prior to getting the physical copies of the storty i had already read volume one online but couldn't find a place to read the second one in full, so these were my first impressions while going through it instead of sleeping and man

It was absolutely amazing, worth every cent I've spent on these.

It really feels like a step up from the first volume in almost every single way, it genuinely took me by surprise right in the starting chapters and had me like NO WAY NO WAY out like during the middle of the fucking night.

The characterization of everyone in this was so good, really feel like there was heart put into writing these characters AND their fighting scenes. I think out of all them the one where Sakura fights Gen (and that whole chapter in general) have to be my favorite overall, which was so surprising to me because Gen is not a character i care about at all but his chapter was just amazing.

If there's one thing I'd have to complain is her fight with Ryu at the end, for a final fight it felt pretty anticlimactic. All the other major fights in this volume either had high stakes to them (Sakura and later her and Chun-li fighting agaisnt those sex traffickers) or they had some big character moments in them (Gen vs Sakura where he pondered on how Sakura's punches hold no darkness to them despite being the user of a technique created for assassination, wondering if his own punches once embodied light and if so when did his light began to fade. Cammy + Sakura vs Zangief where the whole chapter in itself felt mostly about her baggage with having been a part of shadaloo and taking the first steps into a new life, to the point where it's in this fight where she takes in the name Cammy)

Sakura vs Ryu was just,, Sakura vs Ryu. There really wasn't much else to it, didn't even that much dialogue or last that long. So yeah, kinda disappointing to me but whatever, i still had a blast reading this short little series and highly recommend to anyone who might be intrested in reading it 👍
